Project description

This incubation program is part of an ambitious vision to support Algerian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and emerging startups in the creative industries sector, providing them with the tools and knowledge they need to thrive in the national and global marketplace.

Goal

The main goal is to support 16 selected project leaders across the country by providing them with tailored coaching to optimize strategic IP use in their businesses. This entails a dynamic mix of interactive workshops, group coaching sessions and one-on-one advice from experts in business, emerging technologies and IP. This tailor-made approach is designed to strengthen entrepreneurs' IP knowledge, guide them in devising effective strategies and steer them towards the best practices that will make their goods and services more competitive on the international market.

Broad participation

A panel shortlisted 16 innovative projects from more than 170 submitted around the country.

Launch ceremony

The launch took place on May 28, 2024, by the Minister of Culture and the Arts and was attended by the Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, the Minister of the Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-enterprises, the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations Development System and the Director of the WIPO Algeria Office.

Partnerships to better protect the IP system

The occasion also saw the signing of partnership agreements between ONDA and a number of institutions: the National Industrial Property Institute of Algeria (INAPI), the Agency for the Utilization of Research Results and Technological Development (ANVREDET), the Audiovisual Regulatory Authority (ARAV) and the National Library of Algeria.

The aim of these agreements is to foster cooperation and promote greater awareness of IP rights.
