About the Project
The WIPO Branding Project for SMEs in Nigeria was designed to provide support to female and youth led SMEs in the Food and Beverages, Cosmetics, and Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) sectors to utilise branding as a tool for strengthening market access and dominance. Successful applicants will through WIPO’s IP Management Clinics, learn to use IP as a business development and financing strategy.
This project supported on behalf of the government of Nigeria draws from WIPO’s member states commitment to addressing country’s specific challenges post pandemic through the launch of new impact-oriented project leveraging the effective use of IP through its Build Back Fund.
What is the Build Back Fund?
The Build Back Fund is part of WIPO’s COVID-19 Related Services and Support.
WIPO helps member states to address specific challenges post-pandemic through the launch of new, impact-oriented projects leveraging the effective use of IP. A special focus is dedicated to those typically underserved by the IP system such as women, youth, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), local communities and indigenous peoples.
The Build Back Fund ensures the seamless continuity of projects and activities launched under the COVID-19 Response Package and will continue to address country-specific needs and priorities during the post-pandemic period.
Who can apply?
The WIPO Branding Project in Nigeria welcomes all SMEs in the following sector:
- Food and Beverages
- Cosmetics
- Information, Communications and Technology (ICT)
This is a nationwide project open to SMEs in the above sectors from across Nigeria.
What to Expect
Learn about the importance of intellectual property in protecting ideas and fostering a successful business for a duration of four (4) months.
Receive tailored mentoring for your business by seasoned IP and business experts to support business growth and IP management.
The deadline for application is June 14.
