New Study on Demand for Unlicensed Audiovisual Content in the Caribbean
January 12, 2022
The Building Respect for IP Division has published Copyright Infringement and the Availability of Licensed Audiovisual Content in the English-speaking Caribbean, a study on the relationship between the availability of licensed English-language programming and the demand for film and television content from unlicensed sources.
The study, prepared by Mr. Olivier Dock of Whitebench consultancy, describes a complex set of factors which have affected the historic growth of unlicensed consumption of audiovisual entertainment. It is hoped that his analysis will be of value to both policy-makers and commercial operators in the region.
