IP Training Institutions

The WIPO Academy helps member states set up Intellectual Property Training Institutions (IPTIs) and meet their local intellectual property training and skills-building needs in a scalable and cost-effective way.
The tailor-made sustainable model of capacity building empowers beneficiaries on the ground with the intellectual property (IP) knowledge and skills needed to leverage their creativity and innovation for socio-economic development.

The IPTIs first launched in 2010 after a recommendation from the Committee on Development and Intellectual Property (CDIP). Since then, this tailor-made sustainable model of capacity building is one of WIPO’s most in-demand services, empowering beneficiaries on the ground with the intellectual property (IP) knowledge and skills needed to leverage their creativity and innovation for socio-economic development.

The IPTIs Network page provides an overview of the geographical distribution of established IPTIs and basic information, including the contact details of focal points.

Yes, you can participate in some trainings offered by IPTIs. Through our IPTIs Events Calendar, you can consult upcoming training opportunities, including whether they will be offered in an online, onsite or hybrid format.

Verify if there is an IPTI in your country/region using our map and get in touch with the IPTI focal point for more information.
