Summer School - General Information

Language of tuition

Different languages, depending on the summer school. No interpretation is made available.

Eligibility

Interregional in nature, the WIPO Summer Schools Program is aimed at senior and graduate students from any academic discipline as well as young professionals working in any field in which IP may play a part.

Application procedure

Candidates for the summer school programs offered are required to register online through: welc.wipo.int. Only applications submitted online will be considered. Under each training course, the dates and the deadlines for registration are provided.

Distance-Learning

Candidates will be required to successfully complete a session of the Academy’s General Course on Intellectual Property (DL-101) online. Dates for the session will be announced. Special distance learning (DL) courses for specialized Summer Schools will also be announced.

Travel, accommodation and living expenses

Participants are responsible for their own travel to and from various destinations, as well as their accommodation and living expenses during their participation in the program.

Scholarships

Scholarships are available for international participants to the Summer Schools taking place in the Republic of Korea (ROK) and South Africa through the funds from the Governments of ROK and Japan, respectively. Scholarships include travel costs.

Award

A certificate of participation is awarded to participants who successfully complete the program requirements.
