With this launch, Portuguese-speaking creators can now easily access information on the music industry, allowing them to understand how their work can remain safe, protected, and properly managed.

We are proud to stand alongside Rock in Rio Academy and Rock in Rio in our shared mission that values creative expression and cultural preservation.

CLIP Champions: Introducing Solange Cesarovna

CLIP Champions stand at the heart and soul of CLIP. They play a key role in empowering creators to understand their creators’ rights and responsibilities and to take full advantage of CLIP as a free, comprehensive and authoritative resource. Champions speak directly to their communities, embodying our philosophy of “by creators, for creators.”

Solange Cesarovna is a passionate advocate for creators’ rights and a shining example of the global accessibility CLIP aims to provide. Solange, a Cabo Verdean singer-songwriter known as the “Queen of Morna of the 21st Century,” began her musical journey at the tender age of seven. She has represented Cabo Verde internationally, honed her craft in Brazil, and released her debut album in 2008. Her unique style blends traditional Cabo Verdean genres like Morna, Coladeira, and Funaná, with her 2017 album “Mornas” being a heartfelt tribute to Cabo Verdean poet Eugénio Tavares.

Beyond her music, Solange is a powerful advocate for musicians’ rights. As the founding member and former president of the Cabo Verdean Music Society (SCM), she fought tirelessly to secure copyright protections for Cabo Verdean artists. Under her leadership, SCM joined the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC) in 2017, greatly improving the rights and royalties for musicians across her homeland.
