WIPO for Creators Debuts CLIP Booth at WIPO General Assembly 2024
August 15, 2024
The WIPO Assemblies 2024, which brought together delegates from around the world, marked the debut of the CLIP outreach booth.
The CLIP booth served as an engaging hub for delegates to delve into CLIP’s resources and engage in discussions about global collaboration to support creators.
Booth activities
The CLIP booth focused on promoting the platform’s website, now available in all six UN languages, and connecting with potential partners to expand the CLIP’s reach.
Visitors had the chance to participate in interactive activities, such as contributing to a banner with names of popular musicians from their countries and showing their talent by playing a guitar tune.
The booth saw significant engagement, welcoming approximately 180 visitors and conducting 90 postcard interactions from 50 different countries.
World IP Day 2025
In his address to the Assemblies, WIPO Director General Daren Tang announced that next year’s theme for World Intellectual Property Day will be on music, emphasizing WIPO’s commitment to supporting music creators. The theme highlights the crucial role of IP in fostering a vibrant and sustainable creative economy.
Visit from Solange Cesarovna
A special highlight of the event was a visit from Solange Cesarovna, renowned Cabo Verdean artist, songwriter and copyright ambassador. Solange provided valuable insights about the CLIP platform and added a musician’s touch to the booth.
Adding to the buzz, a shoutout video from Nile Rodgers, co-founder of Chic and multiple Grammy Awards winner, was co-published on CLIP’s and the artist’s social media channels, encouraging music creators to engage with CLIP and spread the word on the platform.
