The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and, in accordance with the provisions of the above international instrument, adopted at Stockholm, has the honor to notify him of the notifications deposited by the Governments of the States listed hereafter in which these Governments indicate their desire to avail themselves of the provisions of Article 18(2) of the said Agreement.
These notifications entered into force on the date of their receipt, that is, on:
- August 17, 1970, for the Spanish State;
- August 25, 1970, for the Portuguese Republic;
- September 11, 1970, for the Kingdom of the Netherlands;
- September 14, 1970, for the Kingdom of Morocco;
- September 18, 1970, for the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
Pursuant to the said Article, these States, which are members of the Madrid Special Union, may, for five years from April 26, 1970, the date of entry into force of the Convention Establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), exercise the rights provided under Articles 10 to 13 of the Stockholm Act of the said Agreement, as if they were bound by those Articles.
