'The Act amends the Act No. 866 in relation to the period of protection for varieties of potato. The protection period is extended from 25 years to maximum 30 years'.

Amendment to the Plant Variety Protection Act

WE, MARGRETHE THE SECOND, by the Grace of God Queen of Denmark, hereby make known:

The Danish Folketing has passed and we by Our Consent have confirmed the following Act:

§ 1
Act No. 866 of 23 December 1987 on Plant Variety Protection is to be amended as follows:
§ 12, art. 1, 2 item should read as follows:
"The certificate of protection is valid for one year, and the protection may be extended for one year at a time for a period of 25 years, however, for varieties of potatoes the maximum is 30 years, from the date of issue of the certificate of protection, cf. § 21, art. 1".
§ 2
The Act enters into force on 1 January 1995.
