Details Details Year of Version 2013 Dates Entry into force: July 1, 2013 Adopted: June 28, 2013 Type of Text Implementing Rules/Regulations Subject Matter Copyright and Related Rights (Neighboring Rights), IP Regulatory Body Notes The notification by Australia to the WTO under article 63.2 of TRIPS states:
'These regulations amend the Copyright (International Protection) Regulations 1969 to replace Schedule 3 with a new Schedule 3 that updates the list of countries that provide secondary use rights for Australian sound recordings.
These regulations extend the protection available within Australia under the Copyright Act 1968 to copyright owners of materials produced in countries that are members of international copyright treaties of which Australia is also a party.
Schedule 3 of the regulations lists the countries to which Australia provides rights for broadcast of sound recordings and performance in public of sound recordings. This protection is offered on a reciprocal basis to countries who provide similar protection for Australian sound recordings.'
