Section I of Part I of the Act states: 'This Act may be cited as the Copyright Act, 2016, and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister shall appoint, by notice published in the Gazette.'
The Act entered into force on March 13, 2017, except its Part III, in accordance with Copyright Act (Commencement) Notice (G.N. 21/2017), which was published in the Gazette.
