Year of Version 2000 Dates Entry into force: February 15, 1979 Adopted: June 9, 1978 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Other Notes This consolidated version of Act No. 50 of June 9, 1978, Concerning the Cultural Heritage incorporates all the amendments up to Act No. 14 of March 3, 2000, which entered into force on June 1, 2000, and January 1, 2001.
For the amendments introduced by the said Act No. 3 of March 3, 2000, see the following provisions of this consolidated version, which entered into force on June 1, 2000:
- Chapter II, sections 3, 4 and 5;
- Chater III, section 12;
- Chapter IV, its Heading and section 14a;
- Chapter V, its Heading and section 15, sections 16 to 18;
- Chapter VI, section 22 a.

Sections 23 to 23f of Chapter VI provides for the prohibition on exports of cultural objects, including, inter alia, paintings, sculptures and other pictorial art, handicrafts and prototypes of design products that are more than 50 years old; the return and the tracing of cultural objects; the judicial procedure for the return thereof; the right of ownership and the compensation to the owner.
