The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify him of the deposit by the Government of Iceland, on September 28, 1984, of its instrument of accession to the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works of September 9, 1886, as revised at Paris on July 24, 1971, with a declaration provided for in Article 28(1)(b) of the Paris Act (1971) to the effect that its accession shall not apply to Articles 1 to 21 and the Appendix.
Iceland will belong to Class VII for the purpose of establishing its contribution towards the budget of the Berne Union.
Articles 22 to 38 of the Paris Act (1971) of the said Convention will enter into force, with respect to Iceland, three months after the date of this notification, that is, on December 28, 1984.
