The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and, in accordance with the provisions of the Convention Establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization, has the honor to notify him that the Government of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas deposited, on October 4, 1976, its instrument of accession to the said Convention.
The Commonwealth of the Bahamas has fulfilled the condition set forth in Article 14(2) of the said Convention by concurrently acceding to the Paris Act (1971) of the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works, as provided for in Article 29bis of the said Act and with the declaration provided for in Article 28(1)(b) to the effect that its accession shall not apply to Articles 1 to 21 and to the Appendix.
Pursuant to Article 15(2), the Convention Establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization will enter into force, with respect to the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, three months after the date of deposit of its instrument of accession, that is, on January 4, 1977.
