Madrid Agreement for the Repression of False or Deceptive Indications of Source on Goods

Ratification of the Additional Act of Stockholm by the Federal Republic of Germany

The Director of the United International Bureaux for the Protection of Intellectual Property (BIRPI) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and, in accordance with the provisions of the above international instrument adopted at Stockholm, has the honor to notify him that the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany deposited, on June 19, 1970, its instrument of ratification dated June 12, 1970, of the Additional Act of Stockholm, of July 14, 1967, to the Madrid Agreement for the Repression of False or Deceptive Indications of Source on Goods of April 14, 1891, with the following declaration: "the said Additional Act shall also apply to Land Berlin from the date on which it enters into force for the Federal Republic of Germany." (Original).

Pursuant to the provisions of Article 5(2), the Additional Act of Stockholm to the said Agreement will enter into force, with respect to the Federal Republic of Germany, three months after the date of this notification, that is, on September 19, 1970.
