The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify him of the deposit by the Government of the Republic of Yemen, on November 15, 2006, of its instrument of accession to the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property of March 20, 1883, as revised at Stockholm on July 14, 1967, and as amended on September 28, 1979 (Paris Convention).
The said instrument of accession contains a declaration that pursuant to Article 28(2) of the said Convention, the Republic of Yemen does not consider itself bound by the provisions of paragraph (1) of Article 28 of the said Convention.
The Paris Convention will enter into force, with respect to the Republic of Yemen, on February 15, 2007. On that date, the Republic of Yemen will become a member of the International Union for the Protection of Industrial Property ("Paris Union"), founded by the Paris Convention.
