The Secretary-General of the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and, in conformity with the provisions of Article VIII, paragraph (6), of the above Additional Act, has the honor to inform him that, according to the notification received from the Government of the French Republic on July 13, 1977, the Government of the Swiss Confederation deposited, on June 10, 1977, its instrument of ratification of the International Convention for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants, signed at Paris on December 2, 1961, and of the Additional Act of November 10, 1972, amending the said International Convention.
According to the information received, the Swiss Confederation will contribute one and one-half units for the purpose of determining the amount of its contribution towards the budget of UPOV.
The said International Convention and Additional Act entered into force, with respect to the Swiss Confederation, thirty days after the deposit of its instrument of ratification, that is, on July 10, 1977.
