Territorial Information

Ratification of the Stockholm Act (1967) also applied to Land Berlin with effect from the date on which it entered into force for the Federal Republic of Germany. (see Paris Notification No. 23)

Accession to the Washington Act (1911) for Colonies: September 18, 1914; Entry into force: May 1, 1913. (see La Propriété Industrielle 1914, No.9, p.125)

Accession to the Brussels Act (1900) included colonies. (see La Propriété Industrielle 1914, No.1, p.1)

Stockholm Act (1967): Dates apply to the Federal Republic of Germany.
German Democratic Republic - Accession: June 20, 1968; Entry into force - Articles 1 to 12: April 26 or May 19, 1970; Articles 13 to 30: April 26, 1970 - the validity of this accession was contested by a certain number of Member States. Date of ceasing to be a party: October 3, 1990.

Lisbon Act (1958): Dates apply to the Federal Republic of Germany.
German Democratic Republic - Accession: July 10, 1964; Entry into force: January 15, 1965. The validity of this accession was contested by a certain number of Member States.

Signature and ratification of the London Act (1934) were by the German Reich. The German Democratic Republic declared that the Act was once again applicable in 1956, but there was a disagreement between the Member states of the Union as to the validity of this declaration.
