Executive Order
For Set-up of Industrial Design Registration System
May 1,2009
WHEREAS, it is expedient to bring into operation the system for registration of Industrial Design;
NOW THEREFORE, I, Khandu Wangchuk, Minister for Economic Affairs, Royal Government of Bhutan, by virtue of the power vested in me by Section 2 Part I and Section 43 (l) Part V of the Industrial Property Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan, 2001, do hereby appoint May 1, 2009 corresponding to the i h day of the Third Month of the Earth Ox Year as the date of commencement of Part III Section 17 to 23 of the Industrial Prooerty Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan, 2001 concerning Industrial Design.
I further authorize the Intellectual Property Division of the Ministry of Economic Affairs to act as the office of record to maintain a register of Industrial Design to issue Industrial Design certificates to applicants and also to issue directives and guidelines for the implementation of the above provisions of the Act and Rules.
