The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to inform him that as from the date of the entry into force, on August 1, 1984, of the Hague Agreement Concerning the International Deposit of Industrial Designs of November 6, 1925 ("Hague Agreement (1925)"), revised at The Hague on November 28, 1960 ("The Hague Act (1960)") (see The Hague Notification No. 22), the Protocol of Geneva of August 29, 1975, to that Agreement will, in accordance with the provisions of Article 11(2)(a) of that Protocol, cease to have effect.
However, as provided by Article 11(2)(b) of the said Protocol, the fact that the Protocol ceases to have effect does not relieve any State bound by the Protocol of their obligations under the Protocol in respect of industrial designs whose date of international deposit precedes the date of entry into force of the Hague Act (1960).
