The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and, in accordance with the provisions of the above international instrument adopted at Stockholm, has the honor to notify him that the Government of the Democratic and Popular Republic of Algeria deposited, on March 24, 1972, its instrument of accession, dated January 20, 1972, of the Madrid Agreement concerning the International Registration of Marks of April 14, 1891, as revised at Stockholm on July 14, 1967.
Referring to Article 3bis(1) of the said Act, the Government of the Democratic and Popular Republic of Algeria declared that it reserved the right not to extend the protection resulting from the international registration to its territory except at the express request of the proprietor of the mark.
Pursuant to the provisions of Article 14(4)(b), the Stockholm Act of the said Agreement will enter into force, with respect to the Democratic and Popular Republic of Algeria, three months after the date of this notification, that is, on July 5, 1972.
