The application of this Act to the German Democratic Republic was made in a declaration dated January 16, 1956. The validity of this declaration was contested by a certain number of Member States. Entry into force date applies to the Federal Republic of Germany and German Democratic Republic. German Democratic Republic - Date of ceasing to be a party: October 3, 1990. Germany notified acceptance for the termination of the London Act (1934), on August 16, 2010. The termination of the London Act became effective on October 18, 2016, three months after the Director General of WIPO received the last required notification of acceptance.
