The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify him of the deposit by the Government of New Zealand, on March 14, 1984, of its instrument of accession to the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property of March 20, 1883, as revised at Stockholm on July 14, 1967 ("Stockholm Act (1967)"), with a declaration to the effect that its accession shall not apply to Articles 1 to 12.
The said instrument of accession also contains the declaration that the accession of New Zealand and the declaration to the effect that its accession does not apply to Articles 1 to 12 of the Stockholm Act (1967) shall extend to the Cook Islands, Niue and Tokelau.
New Zealand is a member of the International Union for the Protection of Industrial Property (Paris Union), founded by the said Paris Convention, since July 29, 1931.
The Stockholm Act (1967) of the said Convention, with the exception of Articles 1 to 12, will enter into force, with respect to New Zealand, and also the Cook Islands, Niue and Tokelau, three months after the date of this notification, that is, on June 20, 1984.
