WIPO Joins IP Offices in Joint Statement Commemorating International Women’s Day 2022

WIPO is proud to join over twenty IP Offices worldwide in a joint statement pledging support for women in creativity and innovation, and renewing commitment to gender equality in the innovation ecosystem.

In alignment with the 2022 International Women’s Day theme “Gender equality for a sustainable tomorrow”, we recognize the crucial role women play in creating new technologies, products and processes for mitigating the impact of climate change. We also recognize that women remain underrepresented in the IP system.

WIPO, together with the rest of participating offices and organizations, is committed to continue to share ideas, resources and lessons learned with the global IP community to increase access to intellectual property for all women, in all diversity.
