WIPO Singapore Office Collaborates with NGO Inspiring Girls
2022年5月30日
Introducing girls to careers in IP was the theme of a collaboration between the WIPO Singapore Office (WSO) and the non-government organization, Inspiring Girls. The collaboration resulted in the WSO inviting the two IP associations in Singapore (the Association of Singapore Patent Attorneys – ASPA, and the Institute of Singapore Trade Mark Agents – ISTMA) to join a careers exhibition at the Nanyang Girls High School.

Inspiring Girls is an organization dedicated to raising the aspirations of young girls around the world by connecting them with female role models. The WSO was pleased to assist in this regard by linking the girls from Nanyang Girls High School with women who are leading figures in Singapore’s IP environment, during their annual career exhibition.
Over 250 girls visited the WIPO booth with around 200 completing the IP quiz which encouraged them to learn some key facts about IP!

The WSO’s involvement came about through the tireless work of Inspiring Girls Singapore’s Country Chair, Ms. Jacqueline Chua.
Many thanks to ASPA President, Ms. Pei Lin Low and executive committee member, Dr. Natsuho Yamamoto, and ISTMA Secretary Ms. Tasneem Haq, and executive committee member Ms. Boo Yee Swan for giving up their time to share insights with the girls about their career and working in the field of IP.
