Call for Interest: Fellowship Programme in Japan

WIPO Japan Office is organising fellowship programme for the international students studying and enrolled in Japanese universities. This initiative is conducted and financed under the Funds-In-Trust Japan Industrial Property Global.

This programeme invites fellows to undergo a training programme in the area of Intellectual Property at Japanese IP law firms for the duration of five days.

The training programme will take place in the group of up to four fellows. Taking into account the focused study areas and interests of fellows, WIPO and the host institution will customize a part of the training programme and offer either one-to-ne or smaller group sessions.

Training programme will include items such as lectures in IP and IP strategy, practical case studies, visit to relevant institutions (e.g., Japan Patent Office and Courts) and presentation of an IP success story in the fellow’s home country.

It is a free programme to participate.

Qualifications

Applicant must be enrolled in Japanese universities as an international student
Applicant must be able to communicate in English and Japanese
Applicant must have interests in IP

Duration

Monday 11^th to Friday 15^th September 2023

Monday 25^th to Friday 29^th September 2023

Host institution

WIPO Japan Office will nominate candidates to the host institution

Other

Depending on the candidate’s residential city, costs incurred for travelling to the venue city and accommodation may be remunerated.
