Videos are one of the many valuable communications tools

Where appropriate, they can be a great way to:
  • Capture expressions of support (especially among thought leaders and other high-profile personalities for the campaign).
  • Demonstrate that intellectual property is a powerful tool for inventors, creators and entrepreneurs in all parts of the world to create economic value, advance their goals and build a more sustainable future.
  • Show how inventors, creators, entrepreneurs, projects, and initiatives in your area are using IP-backed innovation and creativity to find new and better solutions to support our transition to a more sustainable future.
  • Employ a medium already familiar to young people across the globe, many of whom are highly skilled in video creation for their own social media presences.

Practical Tips

Producing a compelling video can be a relatively straightforward and low-cost task. But to be effective, it needs to be shot in a way that is engaging and fresh. Some tips include:

  • Film in a style appropriate to the platform where the video will be posted - some social media platforms use landscape (16:9) formats, while others use vertical formats.
  • Shoot steady video.
  • Avoid unnecessary zooms and pans.
  • Ensure proper lighting.
  • Plan your interview.
  • Capture good sound.
