Uruguai adere ao PCT

Em 7 de outubro de 2024, o governo do Uruguai depositou seu instrumento de adesão ao Tratado de Cooperação em matéria de Patentes (PCT) com o diretor geral da OMPI. O PCT entrará em vigor no Uruguai em 7 de janeiro de 2025.

Com sua adesão ao PCT, o Uruguai se tornará o 158º membro da União do PCT.

A partir de 7 de janeiro de 2025, requerentes e inventores no Uruguai poderão depositar pedidos de patentes segundo o PCT como um meio de buscar a proteção de uma patente nos Estados Contratantes do PCT.

Da mesma forma, a partir de 7 de janeiro de 2025, empresas e inovadores estrangeiros poderão usar o Sistema do PCT para buscar a proteção de uma patente para suas invenções no Uruguai.

No momento do depósito do instrumento de adesão, o Uruguai também fez uma reserva de que não está vinculado ao Capítulo II do PCT. Informações sobre o funcionamento do Uruguai como Organismo receptor e Organismo designado do PCT estarão disponíveis em breve no Guia do requerente no PCT (em Inglês).
