TRADE MARKS ACT (CHAPTER 332)

TRADE MARKS (AMENDMENT) RULES 2013

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 108 of the Trade Marks Act, the Minister for Law hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Trade Marks (Amendment) Rules 2013 and shall come into operation on 1st January 2014.

Amendment of First Schedule

2. Item 35 of the First Schedule to the Trade Marks Rules (R 1) is amended by deleting the words “trade mark number” under the heading “Fee” and substituting the words “certificate issued (each certificate being in respect of one trade mark number)”.

Amendment of Third Schedule

3.––(1) Part I of the Third Schedule to the Trade Marks Rules is amended ––

(a) by deleting the word “colourants” in the item relating to “Class 2” and substituting the word “colorants”;

(b) by deleting the words “jewellery, precious stones,” in the item relating to “Class 14” and substituting the words “jewellery and precious stones;”;

(c) by deleting the comma immediately after the word “eggs” in the item relating to “Class 29” and substituting a semi‑colon; and

(d) by deleting the words “confectionary; ices” in the item relating to “Class 30” and substituting the words “confectionery; edible ices”.

(2) Part II of the Third Schedule to the Trade Marks Rules is amended by deleting the comma immediately after the word “repair” in the item relating to “Class 37” and substituting a semi‑colon.
