 SUPREME COURT(AMENDMENT) RULES, 1999

SUPREME COURT (AMENDMENT) RULES 1999 CI 24

IN exercise of the powers conferred on the Rules of Court Committee by article 157(2) of the Constitution these Rules are made this 31st day of May 1999.

C.I. 16 amended-

The Supreme Court Rules 1996 (C.I. 16) are amended as follows-

(a) by the substitution for sub rule (2) of rule 15 of the following-

"(2) Where the appellant does not file the statement of his case accordance with subrule (1), the Registrar shall certify the failure the Court by a certificate as in Form 8A in Part 1 of the Schedule and the Court may upon that order the appeal to be struck out"

(b) by the substitution for subrule (I) of rule 61 of the following

61. (I) An application seeking to invoke the supervisory jurisdiction of the Court under article 132 of the constitution shall-

(a) be accompanied by an affidavit; and

(b) in the case of an application for an order of certiorari or prohibition, be filed with a copy of the decision, order, determination or other proceeding against which the application is sought;

(c) by the substitution for rule 62 of the following

62. An application to invoke the supervisory jurisdiction of the Court shall be filed within 90 days of the date when the grounds for the application first arose unless time is extended by the Court;

(d) by the insertion after Form 8 in Part 1 of the Schedule
