Details Details Year of Version 2002 Dates Entry into force: March 28, 2002 Published: March 20, 2002 Promulgated: March 8, 2002 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Trademarks, Trade Names Notes El Salvador ratified the Protocol to the Agreement on February 27, 2002, by Legislative Decree No. 764, that was published in the Official Gazette (Diario Oficial) No. 55, Volume 354, of March 20, 2002.
In accordance with the transitional clause of the Protocol, the Agreement was extended as a national law from that date to July 16, 2002, in the case of El Salvador, since the Law on Marks and Other Distinctive Signs of El Salvador came into force on the 17th of the same month and year.

The Protocol to the Central American Agreement for the Protection of Industrial Property, signed in the city of San Jose, Costa Rica, on September 17, 1999, by means of which, as from January 1, 2000, The said Central American Agreement was terminated.
