Patents (International Arrangements) Order, 1996

S.I. No. 38 of 1996

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 3(4) and section 25 (5) of the Patents Act, 1992 (No. 1 of 1992), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Patents (International Arrangements) Order, 1996.
2. In this Order -
"Country of the World Trade Organisation" means a country which has ratified or has acceded to the Marrakesh Agreement Establishing the World Trade Organisation Done at Marrakesh on the 15th day of April, 1994.
3. It is hereby declared that subsections (1) to (4) of section 25 of the Patents Act, 1992 (No. 1 of 1992), shall apply in the case of the countries of the World Trade Organisation.
4. The Patents Act, 1964 (Section 93)(Declaration) Order, 1976 (S.I. No. 314 of 1976), is hereby revoked.
