The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and, in accordance with the provisions of the Paris Act (1971) of the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works of September 9, 1886, has the honor to notify him that the Government of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas deposited, on October 4, 1976, its instrument of accession to the said Convention as revised at Paris on July 24, 1971, with the declaration provided for in Article 28(1)(b) of the said Act to the effect that its accession shall not apply to Articles 1 to 21 and the Appendix.
Furthermore, the said instrument of accession contains the declaration that, in respect of Article 33(2) of the said Act, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas does not consider itself bound by the provisions of Article 33(1) of the said Act.
Concurrently with depositing the said instrument of accession, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas indicated, pursuant to Article 25(4)(b), that it wished to belong to Class VII.
Pursuant to the provisions of Article 28(3) of the Paris Act (1971) of the said Convention, Articles 22 to 38 will enter into force, with respect to the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, three months after the date of this notification, that is, on January 8, 1977.
