Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure

Notification by the United States of America of Change in Fees Charged by the American Type Culture Collection

The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify him of the receipt, on March 2, 1982, of the notification of the Government of the United States of America stating a change in the fees charged by the American Type Cultural Collection as an international depositary authority under the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure, done at Budapest on April 28, 1977. The text of that notification is attached.

The fees set forth in the said notification of the Government of the United States of America will apply as from the thirtieth day following the date (April 30, 1982) of the publication of the said fees in the April 1982 issue of Industrial Property/La Propriété industrielle, that is, as from May 30, 1982 (see Rule 12.2(c) of the Regulations under the Budapest Treaty), and will replace the fees for the furnishing of a sample under Rules 11.2 and 11.3 of the said Regulations, published in the April 1981 issue of Industrial Property/La Propriété industrielle (see Budapest Notification No. 16 of April 6, 1981).

NOTIFICATION

The fee schedule of the American Type Culture Collection as published in the April 1981 issue of Industrial Property is changed as follows in respect of the fee for the furnishing of a sample under Rules 11.2 and 11.3 of the Regulations under the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure, done at Budapest on April 28, 1977:

- selected samples furnished to high schools US$ 10.00 + *
- non-profit institutions:  
  - selected samples for educational use US$ 21.50 + *
  - other samples US$ 37.00 + *
- commercial firms US$ 59.50 + *

+ Shipping charges are to be added to the fee itself
