The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify him of the receipt, on January 22, 2016, of a written communication from the Government of the Russian Federation, dated December 31, 2015, communicating, pursuant to Article 8(2) of the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure, done at Budapest on April 28, 1977, as amended on September 26, 1980, the withdrawal of its declaration of assurances made under Article 7 of that Treaty with respect to the National Research Center of Antibiotics (NRCA), an international depositary authority under the Budapest Treaty (see Budapest Notification No. 63 of July 28, 1987).
Pursuant to Article 8(2)(b) of the Budapest Treaty and of Rule 4.2(c) of the Regulations under that Treaty, the status of the National Research Center of Antibiotics (NRCA) as an international depositary authority under the Budapest Treaty will terminate three months from the date of the said communication, that is, on March 31, 2016.

COMMUNICATION
Communication by the Government of the Russian Federation relating to withdrawal of the declaration of assurances with regard to the National Research Center of Antibiotics (NRCA) according to Article 8(2) of the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure.
We have the honor to notify that the Russian Federation withdraws its declaration of assurances done on June 17, 1987, with regard to the National Research Center of Antibiotics (NRCA) – Nagatinskaya str., 3 A, Moscow, the Russian Federation, 113105, as an international depositary authority under the Budapest Treaty.
Information on termination of activity of the NRCA is available on the official website of the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent): www.rupto.ru
Strains of microorganisms relating to deposits under the Budapest Treaty can be deposited again in the Russian National Collection of Industrial Microorganisms (VKPM) of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise of State Research Institute of Genetics and Selection of Industrial Microorganisms.
Please be also informed that the following international depositary authorities are in charge to accept patent deposits for the purposes of both international and national procedure in the Russian Federation:
