Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure

Communication by the Government of the Republic of Chile Relating to Changes in the Schedule of Fees of the Colección Chilena de Recursos Genéticos Microbianos (CChRGM)

The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify the receipt on March 10, 2017, of a communication of the Government of the Republic of Chile, dated March 1, 2017, relating to changes in the schedule of fees of the Colección Chilena de Recursos Genéticos Microbianos (CChRGM), an international depositary authority under the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure, done at Budapest on April 28, 1977, and amended on September 26, 1980 (see Budapest Notification No. 283 of March 26, 2012).

According to Rule 12.2(c) of the Regulations under the Budapest Treaty, the fees set forth in the said communication, shall take effect on May 31, 2017, that is, on the thirtieth day following the publication of the changes by the International Bureau.

Text of the communication by the Republic of Chile relating to changes in the schedule of fees of the Colección Chilena de Recursos Genéticos Microbianos (CChRGM)

COMMUNICATION

The Colección Chilena de Recursos Genéticos Microbianos (CChRGM) was recognized as an International Depositary Authority (IDA) under the Budapest Treaty in April 2012.

Since then, it has made great efforts to disseminate and improve its services and has now received deposits of both national and international microorganisms.

The CChRGM is governed by national administrative regulations, under which it must adjusts its fees annually. Accordingly, in a bid to improve its services, the CChRGM has changed how the fees for its services are expressed. This is now done in United States dollars, according to the below fee schedule. Moreover, these amounts will be revised every three years henceforth.

This communication is made pursuant to Rule 12.2 of the Regulations under the Budapest Treaty.
