The Director of the United International Bureaux for the Protection of Intellectual Property (BIRPI) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and, in accordance with the provisions of the above Convention, has the honor to notify him that the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany deposited, on June 19, 1970, its instrument of ratification dated June 12, 1970, of the Convention Establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), with the following declaration: "the said Convention shall also apply to Land Berlin with effect from the date on which it enters into force for the Federal Republic of Germany." The Federal Republic of Germany has fulfilled the condition set forth in Article 14(2) of the Convention by concurrently ratifying the Stockholm Act of the Paris Convention in its entirety and the Stockholm Act of the Berne Convention with the declaration provided for in Article 28(1)(b)(i) of the said Act to the effect that the ratification shall not apply to Articles 1 to 21 and to the Protocol Regarding Developing Countries.
Pursuant to Article 15(2), the Convention Establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) will enter into force, in respect to the Federal Republic of Germany, three months after the date of the deposit of the instrument of ratification, that is, on September 19, 1970.
