The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and, in accordance with the provisions of the above international instrument adopted at Stockholm, has the honor to notify him that the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic deposited, on September 22, 1970, its instrument of accession, dated September 3, 1970, to the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks of April 14, 1891, as revised at Stockholm on July 14, 1967.
The Director General of WIPO, referring to Madrid Notification (Marks) No. 9, has the honor to recall that, in accordance with Article 14(4)(a), the said Act
- entered into force on September 19, 1970,
- or will enter into force on December 22, 1970,
depending on whether the validity of the instrument deposited in 1968 by the German Democratic Republic is accepted or not.
In the first case, in accordance with Article 14(4)(a), the Stockholm Act of the said Agreement will enter into force, with respect to the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, three months after the date of this notification, that is, on December 29, 1970.
In the second case, in accordance with Article 14(4)(a), the date of entry into force will be December 22, 1970, the instrument deposited by the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic being counted as the fifth instrument.
