The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify him of the deposit by the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic, on September 13, 2002, of its instrument of accession to the Stockholm Act of July 14, 1967, as amended on September 28, 1979, of the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property of March 20, 1883.
The said instrument of accession contains a declaration that pursuant to Article 28(2) of the Convention, the Syrian Arab Republic does not consider itself bound by the provisions of paragraph 1 of Article 28 of the Convention.
The Stockholm Act (1967), as amended on September 28, 1979, of the said Convention will enter into force, with respect to the Syrian Arab Republic, on December 13, 2002.
