The Secretary-General of the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to inform him of the deposit by the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, on December 3, 1998, of its instrument of ratification of the International Convention for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants of December 2, 1961, as revised at Geneva on November 10, 1972, on October 23, 1978, and on March 19, 1991 (the 1991 Act).
The said Convention will enter into force, with respect to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, on January 3, 1999.
