WIPO Performances and Phonograms Treaty

Declaration by the Republic of Finland

The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to refer to the deposit, on December 14, 2009, by the Government of the Republic of Finland of its instrument of ratification of the WIPO Performances and Phonograms Treaty, adopted at Geneva on December 20, 1996, and to the declaration contained therein (see WPPT Notification No. 78).

The Director General of WIPO has the honor to notify the deposit, on April 13, 2016, by the Government of the Republic of Finland, of the following declaration:

"[…] having withdrawn its notification to Article 17 of the Rome Convention in accordance with Article 18 of the said Convention and having made a new declaration provided in Article 5(3) of the Rome Convention, the Government of the Republic of Finland do [sic] hereby alter its notification to Article 3(3) of the WPPT as follows:

Pursuant to Article 3(3) of the Treaty, the Republic of Finland availing itself of the possibilities provided in Article 5(3) of the Rome Convention, declares that it will not apply the criterion of publication."

The said declaration will enter into force on October 13, 2016.
