Accession to the Paris Act (1971) included a notification in which the Government of the People's Republic of China declared that it availed itself of the faculties provided for in Article II and III of the said Appendix. The relevant declaration was effective from October 15, 1992, until October 10, 1994. (see Berne Notification No. 140)
The Paris Act (1971) applied also to Hong Kong, China with effect from July 1, 1997, and to Macao, China with effect from December 20, 1999. (see Berne Notification No. 186 and No. 211)
