Accession by the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic contained the following declaration: "Acceding to the present Agreement, the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic wishes to declare that the provision of Article 12, paragraph 3, of the Agreement concerning the validity of the provision of Article 24 of the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property in relation to the present Agreement has been overcome and is in contradiction with the Declaration of the United Nations on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples."
