The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify him of the deposit by the Government of the Republic of Namibia, on March 31, 2004, of its instrument of accession to the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks of April 14, 1891, as revised at Stockholm on July 14, 1967, and amended on September 28, 1979.
Pursuant to Article 3bis(1) of the Madrid Agreement, protection resulting from the international registration shall extend to the Republic of Namibia only at the express request of the proprietor of the mark.
The Madrid Agreement, as revised, will enter into force, with respect to the Republic of Namibia, on June 30, 2004.
