The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify him of the deposit by the Government of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, on March 26, 1997, of its instrument of accession to the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works of September 9, 1886, as revised at Paris on July 24, 1971, and amended on September 28, 1979.
The Berne Convention as revised will enter into force, with respect to the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, on June 26, 1997. On that date, the Republic of Equatorial Guinea will also become a member of the International Union for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works ("Berne Union"), founded by the Berne Convention.
