The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and, in accordance with the provisions of the Vienna Agreement Establishing an International Classification of the Figurative Elements of Marks, done at Vienna on June 12, 1973, has the honor to notify him that the Government of the French Republic deposited, on June 11, 1975, its instrument of ratification of the said Agreement.
Furthermore, this instrument of ratification contains the following declarations:
"The Government of the French Republic declares that:
1) the said Agreement shall be applicable to the territory of the French Republic in Europe, to the departments of Guyane, Guadeloupe, Martinique and Reunion, and to the overseas territories of New Caledonia, French Polynesia, St. Pierre and Miquelon, Wallis and Futuna Islands and the French Southern and Antarctic Territories;
2) France does not consider itself bound by the provisions of paragraph (1) of Article 16 relating to the settlement of disputes." (Translation)
A separate notification will be made of the entry into force of the said Agreement, when the required number of ratifications or accessions is reached.
