Details Details Year of Version 2021 Dates Amended up to: November 21, 2021 Entry into force: November 13, 2000 Assented: September 2, 2000 Type of Text Main IP Laws Subject Matter Industrial Designs Subject Matter (secondary) Enforcement of IP and Related Laws, IP Regulatory Body Notes This 2020 Revised Edition of the Registered Designs Act 2000, which was updated till December 31, 2021, takes into account amendments up to the 'Copyright Act 2021 (Act No. 22 of 2021)', which was publsihed in the Government Gazette (Acts Supplement) on October 7, 2021, and entered into force on November 21, 2021. Section 507(6) under Part 11 of the said amending Copyright Act 2021 introduced amendments to the following provisions of this 2020 Revised Edition of the Registered Designs Act (see also reference to item 20 entitled "Act 22 of 2021 — Copyright Act 2021" under Part 3, Legislative History on page 77 of the said 2020 Revised Edition): - Sections 2(1) under Part I; - Section 22(1)(a) under Division 4, Part II; - Section 45(6) under Part IV; and - Section 77 under Part VII.
