The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify him of the receipt, on January 8, 1997, of the notification of the Government of Japan dated January 7, 1997, communicating a new schedule of fees charged by the National Institute of Bioscience and Human-Technology (NIBH), an international depositary authority under the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure, done at Budapest on April 28, 1977, as amended on September 26, 1980 (see Budapest Notifications No. 15 of March 31, 1981, and No. 111 of January 18, 1993). The new schedule of fees is attached.
The fees set forth in the said notification will apply as from April 1, 1997, the date indicated in the above-mentioned notification (see Rule 12.2(a) and (c) of the Regulations under the Budapest Treaty). The said fees will replace the fees as published in the February 1994 issue of Industrial Property/La Propriété industrielle (see Budapest Notification No. 124 of February 7, 1994).

SCHEDULE OF FEES
Pursuant to Rule 12.2 of the Regulations under the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure, the new schedule of fees of NIBH is as follows:

Fees are expressed net of Value Added Tax according to Japanese provisions currently in force.
Effective date of modification of fees: April 1, 1997.
