Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure

Communication of the European Patent Office (EPO) Relating to the Change (reduction) in Fees Charged by the Centraalbureau Voor Schimmelcultures (CBS)

The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify him of the receipt, on January 31, 2000, of a written communication, dated January 28, 2000, from the European Patent Office (EPO), informing him of the change (reduction) in fees charged by the Centraalbureau Voor Schimmelcultures (CBS), an international depositary authority under the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure, done at Budapest on April 28, 1977, and amended on September 26, 1980.

The text of the communication is attached. It is to be noted that the reduced fees set forth in the said communication have been applied as from June 1, 1999 (see Rule 12.2(a) of the Regulations under the Budapest Treaty), and have replaced the fees published in the November 1991 issue of Industrial Property (see Budapest Notification No. 100 of October 25, 1991). This notification will be published in the January 2000 issue of the WIPO periodical Intellectual Property Laws and Treaties.

COMMUNICATION

In accordance with Rule 12.2 of the Regulations under the Budapest Treaty, I have the honor to hereby notify you that the amount of fees charged by the Centraalbureau Voor Schimmelcultures (CBS) has been modified for the deposits of microorganisms relating to patent applications.

You will find, attached, the list with the modified fees charged by the Centraalbureau Voor Schimmelcultures. I should be grateful if you could publish this communication as soon as possible in your periodical Intellectual Property Laws & Treaties.


ANNEX

Fees for microorganism deposits under the Budapest Treaty
(with effect from June 1, 1999)

Deposition for 30 years, in conformity with Rule 11.4(g) of the Regulations of the Budapest Treaty 1,250.-
Conversion of a deposit made outside the Budapest Treaty into a deposit according to the Budapest Treaty 1,250.-
