The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify him of the receipt, on June 2, 2004, of the communication of the Government of Australia (IP Australia), dated May 25, 2004, regarding a new schedule of fees charged by the Australian Government Analytical Laboratories (AGAL), an international depositary authority under the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure, done at Budapest on April 28, 1977, and amended on September 26, 1980 (see Budapest Notification No. 72 of August 15, 1980).
The fees set forth in the said communication will take effect as of July 18, 2004, that is, on the thirtieth day following the publication of the change by the International Bureau.

COMMUNICATION
IP Australia has been advised by the Australian Government Analytical Laboratories (AGAL), which is the designated International Deposit Authority (IDA) for patent microorganisms under the Budapest Treaty, that they wish to increase their fees.
The new fees will be the following:

The new fees are to take effect as per Rule 12.2(c) of the regulations "… from the thirtieth day following the publication of the change by the International Bureau."
